Job Description
We are recruiting a team of female Personal Care Assistants to support one of our clients in the Chorley area. The role will be varied and you will be supporting our client with Spina Bifida to lead an individual and independent lifestyle in their own home and the community. Our client has many interests and hobbies, but particularly enjoys getting out and about in the community and enjoying social activities.
We have 3 positions available:

1) 24 hours each week
* 2) Average of 21.5 hours a week (weeks 1-3 - 24 hours / week 4 - 14 hours)
*
3) Average of 19 hours a week (week 1 - 14 hours / week 2 - 24 hours / week 3 - 7 hours / week 4 - 31 hours)
This will be on a rolling rota, including day shifts, overnights and weekend shifts.
You must be a driver with a full driving licence and be comfortable driving the client's wheelchair accessible vehicle. You will support our client on occasion to attend gigs and weekends away, which will include nights away.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.
Who we are looking for:
You must be self motivated, well organised, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Personal Care Assistants with experience of:
*
Spina Bifida (desirable)
*
Supporting personal care including catheter care
*
A background in care with some moving and handling experience (desirable)
*
Providing companionship with good conversation and keeping clients safe whilst in their own home and also out in the community.
*
Medication administration
You should also have:
*
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
*
Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
