Job Title: Plant Mechanic - Southend-on-Sea | Up to £44K + Training + Benefits
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: Up to £44,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Plant Mechanic looking for a stable, long-term role in a growing company? Join a well-established and expanding Plant Hire business in the Southend-on-Sea area. We're seeking a skilled professional to maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of construction and heavy plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, service, and repair plant machinery, including diggers, dumpers, woodchippers, concrete crushers, skip loaders, and tracked trenchers
Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting of hydraulic and electrical systems
Carry out routine maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
Keep detailed service and repair records
Provide technical advice to customers on correct equipment use and upkeep
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic, Plant Fitter, or similar role
Strong skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems repair
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (preferred)
Full UK driving licence (essential)
