Job Description
Job Title: Policy and Insight Officer
Location: CB2 3QG
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ months
Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £20.98 per hour
Key responsibilities:
Provide research, analysis, advice, and innovative solutions on strategic issues for senior leadership.
Support officers across the Council in the development and delivery of strategies under our strategy and policy framework.
Use research tools, including AI, to gather data and create well-evidenced policy papers, briefings, and updates.
Analyse data on public services and socio-economic trends to inform policy and decision-making.
Manage and improve internal guides and tools that support strategic development.Skills and experience:
Proven experience in strategy or policy development relevant to local government.
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills to generate actionable insights.
Experience engaging with stakeholders including councillors, senior leaders, and external partners.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
Advanced research and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
