Job Description
Title: Power Systems Network Modelling Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Location: North East (3 days office expectation initially)
Projects: DIgSILENT model build for new and existing networks
Salary: 60k-75k + market leading package
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures
* Maintenance of own competence in accordance with legislative changes and customer requirements.
* Provide engineering and technical support to various Projects
* Undertake Load Flow, Short Circuit, Voltage Stability, harmonic simulation. Network fault level studies and overall network stability simulations.
* Calculate Produce Protection Relay Settings and Protection Coordination Studies / Reports.
* Perform Earthing Studies
* Analyse new generation and demand connections using the results to assist in designing upgrades and additions to the network
* Performing calculations on networks and customer data.
* Provide technical insight and assistance to Design Engineers
Qualifications and Experience:
* Knowledge of Power System planning, design, protection and control.
* Power system analysis for utility-scale networks including steady state and dynamic system studies.
* Experienced working with DigSILENT, PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS/E
* Experienced in setting and configuration of numerical protection relays.
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
* In depth understanding of Power generation (BESS, Thermal), transmission and distribution systems.
* A strong and demonstrable commercial awareness coupled with an ability to closely identify opportunities to maximize return while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
* Be prepared to work to deadlines and as part of a team to ensure success of the project
* Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel and participate in site meetings throughout the UK when necessary.
* Excellent Written and Verbal Communication.
* Ability to coordinate and prioritise multiple projects.
