Job Title: Primary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant
Location: High Peak
Salary: £100 - £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Do you have the patience, passion, and perseverance to support young learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs?
If so, GSL Education seeks a compassionate and proactive Primary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a caring and inclusive school environment. Based in High Peak, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students who require additional support to thrive academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
Provide personalised 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
Help students develop emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills.
Assist teachers in adapting lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
Work closely with the SENCO, external professionals, and families to support learning plans.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students.
Be flexible in travelling between school sites or provisions if required.
Requirements:
Experience working with SEMH needs in a primary or SEN setting.
A valid UK driving licence.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
A nurturing, resilient, and calm approach to challenges.
A commitment to helping all students achieve their full potential.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
