We are looking to recruit a Principal Youth Offending Service Practitioner in the Youth Justice Team within Havering. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

The responsibilities of the Principal Youth Offending Service Practitioner includes:
Prevent youth offending, protect the public and safeguard individuals.
Contribute to both the operational efficiency and the strategic development of the Youth Offending Service.
Discharge the responsibilities of the local Youth Justice Partnership under both the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Crime Justice and Immigration Act 2008 in relation to youth justice disposals.
Help deliver the authority's responsibilities under the Children Act 1989 & 2004 and other relevant legislation with respect to children in need, particularly those in need of protection and those in the care of the authority.
Maintain professional standards of practice and to implement and comply with the Departmental vision, values, strategic objectives, procedures and managerial guidance.
Operate with significant professional autonomy.
Improving performance and quality of work done by staff under his/her line management.
To act as a member of a professional multi-agency team providing criminal justice services to children subject to statutory supervision and their families.
Oversee and undertake the production of a range of reports including Pre-Sentence Reports and reports to case conferences, reviews and planning meetings.
