Job Description

Role –Production Engineer position Location – Close to Newmarket, Suffolk Working hours –  Sunday to Wednesday and Sunday to Tuesday – DAYS – 6.00AM – 6.00PM OR NIGHTS 6.00PM – 6.00AM Or  Wednesday to Saturday and Thursday to Saturday – 6.00am – 6.00pm DAYS or 6.00pm – 6.00am NIGHTS Salary – Between £30,000 - £40,000 per annum plus shift incentive Capacity of role – Permanent position Our client is a reputable organisation and they are looking to increase their workforce by adding additional Production engineers to join their workshop based team. This role is a pivotal position within the workforce and you will be joining a well organised and established team. This company loves progressing employees internally and looks for applicants who want to further themselves in the workplace Main duties will include –  To assist the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Lathe Area Department.  To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions.  To assist Lathe Machine production when necessary to maintain production output.  To assist in the training of new staff and progression training of existing staff.  To diagnose faults and repair Lathe Machines and associated Equipment.  To complete and update tasks using a Maintenance based software.  To provide assistance as and when required to any and all members of the Lathe Area team.  To provide assistance to Service Engineers as and when required.  To assist with any other requirements associated with the department. Candidate attributes - • Experienced in using a range of tool room / work shop based machinery. • Familiar with CNC based Machines, and also have at least 5-10 years’ experience of working in a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 or at the very least, a shift type basis. • Very good mechanical aptitude and be able to diagnose faults associated with Machine Wear and Component Quality. • Disciplined, self-motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team. • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and have strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
