Job Description
Role –Production Engineer position
Location – Close to Newmarket, Suffolk
Working hours –
Sunday to Wednesday and Sunday to Tuesday – DAYS – 6.00AM – 6.00PM OR NIGHTS 6.00PM – 6.00AM
Or
Wednesday to Saturday and Thursday to Saturday – 6.00am – 6.00pm DAYS or 6.00pm – 6.00am NIGHTS
Salary – Between £30,000 - £40,000 per annum plus shift incentive
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Our client is a reputable organisation and they are looking to increase their workforce by adding additional Production engineers to join their workshop based team.
This role is a pivotal position within the workforce and you will be joining a well organised and established team. This company loves progressing employees internally and looks for applicants who want to further themselves in the workplace
Main duties will include –
To assist the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Lathe Area Department.
To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions.
To assist Lathe Machine production when necessary to maintain production output.
To assist in the training of new staff and progression training of existing staff.
To diagnose faults and repair Lathe Machines and associated Equipment.
To complete and update tasks using a Maintenance based software.
To provide assistance as and when required to any and all members of the Lathe Area team.
To provide assistance to Service Engineers as and when required.
To assist with any other requirements associated with the department.
Candidate attributes -
• Experienced in using a range of tool room / work shop based machinery.
• Familiar with CNC based Machines, and also have at least 5-10 years’ experience of working in a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 or at the very least, a shift type basis.
• Very good mechanical aptitude and be able to diagnose faults associated with Machine Wear and Component Quality.
• Disciplined, self-motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team.
• Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and have strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
