A leading Tier 2 Main Contractor specialising in complex residential and mixed-use developments is seeking a Project Director to oversee two major London-based schemes. This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of both projects, managing multiple teams, and driving collaboration across design, commercial, and delivery functions.
Key Projects:
1.
Barnet, London – £75M Cut & Carve Conversion
A major redevelopment of a former office building into 260 high-quality residential units. The scheme involves significant cut and carve, structural modifications, and full internal reconfiguration.
2.
Stratford, London – New Build Student Accommodation
A large-scale student housing development with modern amenities and complex logistics in a dense urban environment.
Role Responsibilities:
*
Provide strategic leadership and full oversight of both projects from pre-construction through to handover.
*
Lead multi-disciplinary site and office teams across both schemes.
*
Work closely with design, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure alignment on programme, cost, and quality.
*
Chair regular client, design, and progress meetings; ensure clear communication across stakeholders.
*
Manage risk, drive programme performance, and ensure health & safety standards are met at all times.
*
Maintain a strong relationship with clients, consultants, and local authorities.
*
Mentor and support Senior Project Managers and wider delivery teams.
Key Requirements:
*
Proven experience delivering complex projects of £50M+ value, ideally with both cut & carve and new build experience.
*
Strong background working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 Main Contractors on residential and student accommodation schemes.
*
Ability to manage multiple live projects and lead large delivery teams.
*
Strong technical understanding and experience engaging with design and commercial functions.
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
*
Based in London or within commuting distance.
