H9 Technical Recruitment are partnered with a leading long-established Investment & Asset Management business based out of London. Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage the successful project delivery on several BESS projects across the UK.
You will be responsible for overseeing the construction and delivery of the Augmentation of existing operational Battery Storage Sites. Reporting directly to the Senior PM, this role is critical to ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will lead the coordination of contractors, suppliers and internal teams with an expected ratio of onsite and office-based working.
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end management of Battery Storage Augmentation construction projects, ensuring delivery aligns with budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
* Look to have some knowledge on Augmentation of BESS projects and the purpose behind them.
* Manage and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk assessments from contractors to proactively manage project execution.
* Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure timely and successful completion.
* Oversee pre-construction activities, including basic development, contractor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
* Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, ensuring smooth collaboration and issue resolution.
* Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all project sites with extensive knowledge of CDM 2015.
* Manage project budgets, cash flow, and cost reporting, providing regular financial updates to senior leadership.
* Facilitate seamless handover of completed projects to the Operations and Asset Management team.
* Prepare and present project status reports to internal stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications
* Level 4 Qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
* Proven track record (ideally 5-7 years’ experience) in delivering energy-related construction projects primarily battery storage with some grid connection experience.
* Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, procurement, and contractor management in energy infrastructure projects.
* Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project) and financial reporting.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, balancing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
* A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detailBefore You Apply
