Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Quantity Surveyor from a house building or main contracting background to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial management and commercial success of our construction projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the quantity surveying function for construction projects, from inception to completion.
Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Conduct cost analysis and prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
Monitor project expenditures and identify areas for cost savings.
Assess and value variations, change orders, and interim payments.
Manage risk assessments and contractual disputes.
Work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Provide accurate and timely reporting on project finances and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry specifically from House building or main contracting.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.
Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel and industry-specific tools.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable but not essential.
