Full-Time Teacher of Psychology Required - Outstanding Havering School (September 2025 Start - Key Stage 5 Essential) Our Outstanding school in the welcoming borough of Havering, London, seeks a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Teacher of Psychology to join our thriving Social Sciences department and make a real difference to the psychological understanding and analytical skills of our students across Key Stage 4 and, crucially, Key Stage 5, commencing in September 2025. Key Responsibilities Include: * Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Psychology lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students at both GCSE and A-Level, reflecting the local context of Havering. * Fostering students' understanding of key psychological theories, concepts, and research methods, with a strong emphasis on the demands of the A-Level specification. * Encouraging critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation of psychological studies and real-world applications. * Assessing and tracking student progress in Psychology across both key stages, providing constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies, particularly for A-Level students. * Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of the Psychology curriculum at both GCSE and A-Level, ensuring alignment with examination specifications. * Utilizing and contributing to the development of high-quality Psychology resources, including contemporary research and case studies relevant to the student population of Havering. * Contributing to extracurricular activities that promote psychological awareness and debate within the school community. * Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Social Sciences department and across the wider school to foster a rich and interdisciplinary learning environment. * Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and keep abreast of current developments in psychological theory and research, with a focus on A-Level pedagogy and assessment. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * A degree in Psychology or a closely related field. * Successful experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and, crucially, A-Level. * A strong and up-to-date understanding of the A-Level Psychology curriculum and relevant examination specifications. * Excellent pedagogical skills and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, particularly the academic rigor required at Key Stage 5. * A passion for Psychology and the ability to inspire students and foster their critical understanding of the human mind. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. * A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of students and the promotion of psychological literacy and critical thinking within the Havering community.
