Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Punch Setter/ operator to join successful, growing sub-contract Sheet Metal / Fabrication company based in Telford. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in working with various tools and materials. As a Setter, you will be responsible for assembling components, fabricating parts, and ensuring that all products meet our high-quality standards. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Working with thin gauge materials typically between 0.7mm to 3.0mm aluminium, stainless steel.
* Operate hand tools and machinery for fabrication tasks
* Reading and interpreting drawings
* Setting and operating Trumpf punch machines
* Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring tools are properly stored
* Collaborate with team members to improve production processes
Experience
* Proven mechanical knowledge with Punch setting / Operating
* Familiarity with tooling and the use of hand tools is essential
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks
* Previous experience working with sheet metal is preferred
