Job Position: Primary SENCO
Pay: £220-£240 per day
Hours: 8.30am- 3.30pm, Permanent/Full Time/ Part Time Available
Axcis Education are working with a primary school in Wednesbury, who are looking for their next SENCO. The school is committed to providing an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all our students. They are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead and oversee our provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for the coordination and record keeping of SEND provision to support individual pupils.
• Advising class teachers on strategies to support pupils, who may or may not have diagnosed SEND, using the graduated approach to providing SEND support.
• Being involved in decisions about the effective deployment of the school’s delegated budget, support staff and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively.
• Being the key point of contact with external agencies
• Working with the Headteacher and senior leaders to ensure that the school meets its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010
• Work in partnership with senior leaders to manage and keep records of complex and confidential procedures, including EHCPs, referrals to social services etc.
• Participate in the implementation of EHC plans with parents of pupils with SEND
• Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and the Equality Act 2010
