Job Title: Qualified Social Worker (QSW) – Long Term Team
Location: Aberdeen House, Ramsgate CT11 9ST
Rate: Up to £38 per hour
Hybrid Working: Hybrid model available – flexibility to work from home or in the office
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Long Term Team based in Ramsgate, Kent. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing ongoing support and intervention for children and families in the long-term care system. You will work with children in care, ensuring their needs are met and that they are supported towards permanence, including through fostering, adoption, or other long-term care arrangements.
The successful candidate will have experience working with looked-after children, be passionate about child protection, and committed to ensuring children and young people experience stability, safety, and the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Case Management: Manage a complex caseload of children in care, ensuring all interventions and plans are in line with the child’s needs and statutory requirements.
* Long-Term Planning: Work to secure long-term placements or permanency for children, including fostering, adoption, and Special Guardianship Orders (SGOs).
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Liaise with other professionals, agencies, and families to ensure coordinated support and delivery of services.
* Assessments & Reviews: Carry out comprehensive assessments and reviews of children in care, ensuring regular and up-to-date reports are provided for case reviews, court hearings, and other relevant meetings.
* Supervision & Support: Provide regular supervision to the child’s carers, ensuring appropriate safeguarding practices are in place and that children’s needs are being met.
* Adherence to Legislation: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, court orders, and relevant legislation, and contribute to the development of care plans and risk assessments.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Social Work Qualification: Must be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England.
* Experience: Experience in long-term care planning, child protection, and case management within the public sector or a similar setting.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks related to children in care, including the Children Act and statutory guidance.
* Case Management Skills: Proven ability to manage a caseload, produce high-quality assessments, and develop plans to support children’s needs.
* Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present cases in court.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines effectively.
* Flexible and Committed: A proactive and flexible approach to work with a strong commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children.
