About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Social Worker to join our Locality Team. This role involves working directly with children, young people, and their families to provide support, safeguard welfare, and improve outcomes. You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, conducting assessments, and working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to implement care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of children and families under the Children Act 1989 and related legislation.
Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to the needs of children and families.
Work in partnership with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective intervention.
Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring statutory deadlines and best practice guidelines are met.
Provide direct support, advice, and intervention to children and their families to promote stability and development.
Lead on child protection and safeguarding cases, conducting risk assessments and ensuring timely interventions.
Attend and contribute to case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings where required.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with local authority policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work (e.g., BA, MA, or DipSW).
Registration with Social Work England.
Proven experience in children's social work, particularly within a locality or frontline team.
Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant UK legislation.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-agency environment.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage a demanding caseload while meeting statutory requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Full UK driving license (desirable but not essential).
