Job Description
Quantity Surveyor
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Salary: £55,000–£60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
I’m working with a leading industrial solutions provider based in Burton-on-Trent, looking for a capable Quantity Surveyor with retail construction experience to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering exposure to multiple workstreams and a wide variety of fast-paced fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all commercial aspects across multiple retail and industrial projects
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
* Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management
* Track project costs and report on value engineering opportunities
* Monitor variations, valuations, and payment applications
* Work closely with delivery teams to ensure projects remain commercially viable
* Support the wider commercial and operational teams across all stages of the build
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the retail construction or fit-out sector
* Strong understanding of contract law and construction contracts (JCT preferred)
* Skilled in cost reporting, tendering, and subcontractor management
* Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
* Confident communicator with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
* Full UK driving licence
