The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a respected family-run contractor for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a range of exciting civil and construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional looking to take full ownership of project finances while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking business.
With a strong pipeline of secured work across Berkshire and surrounding counties, this role offers long-term progression, autonomy, and the chance to work in a collaborative team environment that values growth and mentorship.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects from procurement through to final account
*
Prepare and submit accurate monthly client valuations
*
Produce detailed cost reports and cash flow forecasts
*
Price variations and manage change control processes
*
Procure, negotiate, and manage subcontractor packages
*
Conduct regular site visits and support project delivery teams
*
Ensure timely and accurate payments in line with contractual obligations
*
Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure financial targets are achieved
The ideal candidate will have/be:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or specialist contracting
*
Strong knowledge of commercial management and construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT)
*
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
*
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
*
Full UK driving licence
*
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results
