The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a well-established main contractor for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Paddock Wood, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major construction projects valued between £10M and £20M, involving both new build and refurbishment works across education, commercial, and light industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving project performance, ensuring commercial control and contract compliance from procurement through to final accounts.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing all commercial aspects of large-scale projects.
*
Preparing tender documentation and assessing subcontractor packages.
*
Monitoring budgets and delivering accurate cost forecasting.
*
Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
*
Working closely with site teams, consultants, and clients to maintain project control.
*
Managing variations, interim valuations, and final accounts.
*
Supporting procurement and supply chain management.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on £10M–£20M projects.
*
A strong background across both new build and refurbishment schemes.
*
Sector experience in schools, commercial buildings, and light industrial units.
*
Knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly JCT and NEC.
*
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
*
Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
