Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Project – Helsinki, Finland
A leading international contractor specialising in high-tech construction is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a major data centre development in Helsinki. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work on a landmark project within one of Europe’s fastest-growing sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing project costs, managing subcontractor relationships, and ensuring commercial efficiency across all aspects of the work. With a strong pipeline of European projects, this is an ideal opportunity for a QS seeking to grow their career on complex, high specification builds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the senior project team to procure key subcontract packages.
* Generate quantified work packages and analyse tender returns for budget alignment.
* Prepare and negotiate subcontractor agreements and manage them through to final account.
* Oversee monthly valuations, variation management, and contract administration.
* Maintain accurate cost tracking, cash flow forecasts, and commercial reports.
* Resolve commercial issues proactively and support dispute resolution where required.
* Engage with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients to ensure clear communication.
* Lead and mentor junior commercial team members.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/commercial discipline.
* Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a contracting environment, ideally with an M&E or specialist subcontractor focus.
* In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, installations, and commercial processes.
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills.
* Familiarity with measurement methods and cost control platforms such as Buildsoft, CostX, or similar.
* Previous experience working on data centre or industrial projects is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to manage multiple subcontract packages simultaneously.
