Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering
Location: Essex (office/site-based)
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum + car allowance + benefits
Job Type: Permanent | Full-time

Company Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well established UK civil engineering contractor with over 50 years of proven delivery across infrastructure, highways, drainage, and public realm projects. Known for their professionalism and strong regional presence, Our client is about to commence a major new scheme in chelmsford and harlow, and is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Role Summary
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a high-value Civil engineering project. The role offers a mix of site and office-based work and will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this scheme.
Key Responsibilities
*
Prepare cost plans, budgets, CVRs, valuations, and final accounts.
*
Administer NEC3/4 contracts and manage change control.
*
Review and manage subcontractor applications, procurement, and payments.
*
Monitor project costs and profitability, providing accurate monthly reporting.
*
Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
*
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
Requirements
*
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within civil engineering.
*
Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
*
HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software (e.g. COINS, Causeway).
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
