TITLE: Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing Maintenance (Kitchens & Bathrooms) Wakefield £41,000 - £50,000 + £4K Car Allowance + Benefits Your new company Our client is a well-established and fast-growing contractor specialising in the delivery of social housing maintenance and refurbishment works across the North and Midlands. Your new role Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial performance of a social housing maintenance contract covering the Yorkshire and East Midlands regions. Although you'll be based out of the Wakefield office, you'll be required to travel to sites across both regions. This role focuses on managing the financial aspects of planned maintenance works-primarily kitchen and bathroom upgrades-ensuring accurate cost control, budgeting, and contractual compliance. Responsibilities will include: Managing the commercial function of kitchen and bathroom refurbishment projects Overseeing subcontractor procurement, applications, and payments Producing and reviewing cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and financial reports Monitoring budgets and cost forecasts across multiple workstreams and sites Preparing interim and final accounts and negotiating variations Ensuring compliance with client contracts, including JCT and NHF forms Working closely with delivery teams to ensure accurate reporting and programme alignment Conducting valuations, site visits, and regular reviews of project progress Managing risk and identifying commercial opportunities across the region Supporting the wider commercial team and contributing to company performance targetsWhat you will need to succeed: Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing or planned maintenance Strong understanding of kitchens and bathrooms refurbishment works Knowledge of relevant contracts including JCT, TPC, or NHF Ability to manage multiple projects across a regional footprint Confident in producing CVRs, cost plans, and commercial reports Strong negotiation and communication skills Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Yorkshire and the East Midlands Proficiency with Excel and commercial systemsWhat you get in return: This role offers a great opportunity to join a growing, community-focused organisation that values its people and supports their career development.
