The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic team at a primary school in Kent from September 2025. This is an excellent role for someone passionate about early childhood education, where you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the development of young learners and helping them build the foundation for their future academic success. The successful candidate will join a dedicated school community focused on ensuring every child thrives in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of Reception-aged children, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages children to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
*
Observe and assess children’s progress through formative assessments, providing constructive feedback to both children and parents.
*
Use a range of strategies to cater for the diverse learning needs of children, ensuring every child receives the support they need to reach their full potential.
*
Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leadership to ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
*
Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, maintaining regular communication regarding their child’s development and progress.
*
Contribute to the broader life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development.
Person Specification:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant recognised teaching qualification in Early Years education.
*
Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and experience in teaching Reception-aged children.
*
Ability to create an inspiring, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that fosters children’s independence and a love of learning.
*
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
*
A passion for early years education and a commitment to continuously improving teaching and learning practices.
*
Experience of assessing children’s progress and providing targeted interventions to support individual learning needs.
