Job Description
A well-regarded, two-form entry primary school in Barnet is looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and reflective Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who believes in the power of early learning and is ready to nurture children’s confidence, creativity, and independence at the very start of their school journey.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading an engaging, play-based curriculum that responds to children’s interests and developmental needs
*
Creating a calm, stimulating, and well-organised classroom environment that supports exploration and independence
*
Using formative assessment tools (e.g. Tapestry or equivalent) to monitor progress, identify next steps, and communicate with families
*
Building secure relationships with pupils, parents, and carers, promoting a strong sense of belonging and inclusion
*
Working closely with the Nursery team and KS1 staff to ensure smooth transitions across phases

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold QTS and have solid experience in an EYFS classroom, ideally in a school-based Reception setting

Demonstrate secure knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and child development principles
*
Be highly skilled in creating learning experiences that combine structure, exploration, and challenge
*
Be passionate about developing oracy, language, and social skills through purposeful play and adult interactions
*
Be a positive, reflective practitioner who thrives in a collaborative team
