Job Description

Do you have excellent Electrical fault finding skills on equipment? looking for your first role in Rolling Stock? Already working on Trains but looking for a change? We are looking for Rolling Stock Electrical Technicians to join one of our key rail clients based in Leicester on a permanent basis. The individual will be working with State-of-the-art Locomotives and for an integral part of the team. The position will include travel to other sites as part of the role during the introduction phase. The ideal individual will have to have had exposure to the Rolling stock industry however isn't necessary as those out of industry such as RAF, REME, Avionics, FMCG, Offshore, brewery, mining, Navy, Army,  Armed Forces and other equipment based industries etc will all be considered given they have the required fault finding & Dignosis skills. This role has a salary of £56,106pa (with shift allowance) rising to £59,612pa (with Shift allowance) after completing competencies, the role is working shift covering 24/7 including possible Nights, 36 hours a week. This is an Electrical bias role and candidates will be required to pass an electrical fault finding assessment as part of the recruitment process Your Tasks Undertake fault finding and identify the associated repair required Undertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfaces Provide assistance and technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents. Provide leadership and supervision to production teams as required. Act as systems specialists (systems to be distributed throughout the team) Perform functional system tests on mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems and performing specific measurements as prescribed/requiredYour Profile Essential:  Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/ BTEC level with Mechanical / Electrical / electronic bias Level 3 Extensive professional engineering experience in maintenance Knowledge and experience in modern technical systems and fault finding techniques and the interaction between these, conducting and leading complex root cause investigations and reading electrical / mechanical schematics competently Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems The role comes with a generous benefits package including 33 Days holiday, generous pension contribution, Membership of health cashback plans etc Candidates will be required to pass a medical D&A prior to starting any work within the Rolling Stock industry.
