Fantastic Opportunity for a Roofer - Join a Leading UK Council in Leicester
We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Roofer to work with one of the UK's most reputable local councils, delivering essential repairs and maintenance to domestic housing association properties across the Leicester region.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work, with the potential to transition from temporary to permanent employment.
Role Overview
As part of the council's professional maintenance team, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned roofing maintenance, ensuring that homes are safe, weatherproof, and maintained to the highest standards.
Key Duties Include
Repairing and replacing slates, tiles, and flat roofing systems
Installing and maintaining guttering, soffits, and fascias
Performing leadwork, flashing repairs, and general roofing tasks
Working independently and as part of a team to meet safety and quality guidelines
Job Details
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Leicester and surrounding areas
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour
Contract: Ongoing, full-time, with potential for temp-to-perm after 13 weeks
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in domestic roofing repairs
NVQ Level 2 in Roofing or equivalent (preferred, not essential)
Full UK manual driving licence
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
