Job Description

Job Title: Safeguarding Manager Location: Hybrid/Southeast Salary: £47,000-£55,000 Hours: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm Contract Type: Permanent Purpose of the Role: The Safeguarding Manager is responsible for creating a safe environment for vulnerable Children in Care, Children in Need, and Care Leavers. To oversee a team, ensuring that referral information is appropriately shared with relevant authorities, adhering to established Policies, Legislation, and Protocols. Additionally, the Safeguarding Manager develops strong professional relationships with external stakeholders and represents the organisation in agency meetings, groups, and hearings. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the implementation of safeguarding policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring a safe environment for vulnerable Children in Care, Children in Need, and Care Leavers. * Act as the Safeguarding Lead to provide a secure and stable environment for all young people in our care. * Develop and maintain external links with local safeguarding teams and community experts to enhance safeguarding strategies. * Review and update safeguarding policies annually to ensure compliance with current legislation. * Deliver training to new staff and provide ongoing learning opportunities to ensure best safeguarding practices are followed. * Offer expert advice and support to staff on responding to protection cases, ensuring timely and appropriate actions. * Monitor management information to ensure contractual compliance and adherence to safeguarding best practices. * Serve as the main contact for all safeguarding-related matters with Local Authorities and external agencies. * Manage safeguarding referrals and ensure all relevant information is shared with the appropriate authorities in line with GDPR and legal protocols. * Represent the organisation at safeguarding meetings, including MARAC, MAPPA, and Court Hearings, and ensure registration with Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs). * Liaise with other departments to ensure that measures are in place to ensure the company complies with data protection including GDPR Required Skills: * Safeguarding Knowledge - Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures for vulnerable children. * Leadership and Management - Ability to lead a team, ensuring adherence to safeguarding best practices. * Communication Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication to liaise with stakeholders and report issues. * Relationship-Building - Skilled at building professional relationships with authorities and agencies. * Problem-Solving - Ability to handle complex safeguarding issues and prioritise vulnerable individuals’ well-being. * Training and Development - Experience in delivering training to staff to ensure up-to-date safeguarding practices. * Compliance and Monitoring - Knowledge of compliance standards and ability to ensure adherence. * Organisational Skills & Attention to Detail: Strong time management and ability to handle sensitive cases while ensuring accurate reporting and confidentiality.
