I'm working with St Ambrose Barlow RC High School in Swinton (M27 9QP) to find their new School Business Leader-a key role on the Senior Leadership Team. You'll work closely with the Headteacher, leading on all things finance, operations, HR, IT, estates and compliance. It's a broad role with real influence, ideal for someone ready to move up and shape the future of a great school. Important Details: Salary: £59,627 - £64,951 Hours: 36 per week, Mon-Fri (with some flexibility) Contract: Permanent, full year Pension: Local Government scheme - employer contributions of 19.8% Location: Swinton, SalfordKey Duties of the School Business Leader: Keep the school financially healthy-managing budgets, cashflow, forecasting and compliance Support budget holders and advise on financial planning Lead on audits, year-end, financial reporting and policy review Manage HR operations and advise on employment matters Oversee facilities, including a PFI contract and capital projects Drive IT strategy and manage contracts and assets Lead on health & safety, emergency planning and insurance Act as DPO-handling data protection, GDPR, FOIs, SARs and trainingThe School Business Leader must have: A UK-recognised Level 4 finance qualification (e.g. AAT) or equivalent experience Strong background in finance, budget management and reporting Experience leading operational teams across HR, estates, IT or admin Confident working with governors, auditors and senior leaders Excellent communication skills-you can explain the numbers to anyone A strategic mindset and a hands-on attitude Knowledge of employment law, safer recruitment, GDPR and H&S A values-led approach that puts students first You must have a good standard of spoken English for effective communication Support for the Catholic ethos of the schoolThis role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
