Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: NN2
Pay: £162.31 - £251.71 per day (MPS/UPS)

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Plan, deliver, and assess lessons to high standards across the Science curriculum.
Monitor, record, and report on student progress to parents and guardians.
Maintain high expectations for classroom behavior and student engagement.
Utilize ICT and Key Skills in lesson planning and delivery.
Continuously update and develop subject knowledge to stay current.
Departmental:
Contribute to subject team planning and curriculum development.
Participate in subject team meetings, sharing best practices and ideas.
Support the Faculty Development Plan and the College Development Plan.
Help to moderate coursework and assess students’ work.
Contribute to cross-curricular teaching, ensuring all students benefit from a holistic learning experience.
Pastoral:
Actively participate in pastoral meetings and provide support for students as needed.
Mentor students and liaise with Year Group teams to support both academic and personal development.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
Attend tutor/parent progress meetings as required.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety procedures in and out of school.
Ensure that the teaching environment is safe, engaging, and conducive to student learning.
Report faults or concerns to the Director of Faculty.
Professional Development and Conduct:
Attend all lessons punctually, maintaining high professional standards.
Demonstrate positive and appropriate conduct at all times, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion.
Participate in professional development, teaching evaluations, and appraisals.
Stay up to date with current educational trends and issues.
General:
Support the wider school community through other duties as directed by the Headteacher.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant subject degree.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience working in a Secondary School setting.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Good honours degree.
Further qualifications in teaching Chemistry or related subjects.
Experience with Post 16 teaching.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of secondary education curriculum and assessment practices.
Knowledge of how to use assessment for learning to enhance student outcomes.
Proven track record of achieving good results with students.
Skills and Abilities:
Effective classroom management strategies in an inclusive environment.
Ability to use ICT confidently in teaching and learning.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to manage competing demands effectively and prioritize workload.
Personal Characteristics:
Strong commitment to the ethos of the school and the education of the whole person.
High expectations of both students and oneself.
Willingness to take on responsibility and show initiative.
Emotional resilience and the ability to work under pressure.
