Are you a Science graduate looking to make a real impact in education? Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a range of vibrant and forward-thinking secondary schools across Manchester, who are currently seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Technicians to join their teams from September 2025.
This is a brilliant opportunity for those with a Science degree to put their academic background to practical use and support high-quality science education at secondary level.
The Role:
As a Science Technician, you will be a crucial part of the science faculty, ensuring lessons run smoothly by providing technical support and maintaining safe, well-equipped laboratories. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and setting up apparatus and materials for practical experiments in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Ensuring equipment is properly maintained and stored.
Assisting teaching staff during practical sessions and demonstrations.
Managing stock levels and ordering supplies where necessary.
Upholding health and safety standards within the science department.
Candidate Requirements:
A degree in a Science-related subject is essential (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related field).
Previous experience working in a school or laboratory environment is beneficial, though not essential.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
A proactive and reliable attitude.
A genuine interest in supporting secondary education.
