Position Details: Role: Scrutiny & Policy Officer Contract Type: Temporary (until at least May 31, 2026) Working Hours: Full Time (37 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm) Location: Colwyn Bay Police HQ with hybrid working options Hourly Rate: £20.64 Please note: Applicants must have lived in the UK continuously for at least the last 5 years. Any offer is subject to Police Vetting. Key Responsibilities: As a Scrutiny & Policy Officer, you will: Advise the Police and Crime Commissioner on planning, performance, and policing policies. Manage community engagement and consultation initiatives. Oversee responses to inspection reports and statutory plans. Conduct research, draught policies, and ensure compliance with equality legislation. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Present information clearly and effectively to senior managers. What We're Looking For: We are seeking a talented individual who brings a mix of essential skills and experience: Education: Degree level or equivalent experience. Community Engagement: Proven experience in connecting with diverse communities. Equality Legislation: Strong understanding of equality and diversity issues. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to senior management. Organisational Skills: Exceptional planning and performance monitoring abilities. Tech Savvy: Proficient in IT, capable of creating impactful reports and presentations. Data Analysis: Strong ability to assimilate and summarise data effectively. Welsh Language Proficiency: Bilingual in Welsh and English, with a willingness to reach an agreed standard. Special Requirements: Must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years. A valid driving licence and access to transportation for travel throughout North Wales and beyond.
