A major 3-year project is getting underway in Winchester at Junction 9 on the M3. The Winnall Junction experiences heavy congestion between the A34 and M3, leading to long delays however construction is about to begin on constructing free-flowing traffic between the 2 main roads.
The main scope of works will include 3 new road bridges to widen the existing motorway through the junction, several new roundabouts to improve local traffic and removing the existing signalled junctions, extending the existing slips and a large underpass through the M3 for same-direction free-flow traffic southbound.
The project is recruiting Section Engineers to support packages of work, depending on your experience this may include structures packages, earthworks or highway construction.
Section Engineer duties:
* Lead a team of engineers on a package of works
* Setting out, earthworks, structures and new highway using GPS or Total Station
* Quality assurance documentation
* Support with ITP’s
* Manage technical queries and RFI’s
