SEMH Teaching Assistant | Barking and Dagenham, East London
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Barking and Dagenham, East London.
SEMH Teaching Assistant | The Role:
Full-time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (to accommodate early arrivals, late departures, and paperwork).
Supporting SEMH pupils who are integrated into mainstream classes, providing extra adult support where needed.
Encouraging independence by helping students remain in class and engaging in learning.
Providing additional support, such as taking students for short walks when required.
Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to ensure a nurturing and structured environment.
SEMH Teaching Assistant | What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or other additional needs.
A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
A proactive and nurturing mindset to help students develop confidence and independence.
