Semi-Senior Accountant
Crawley
£28,000 - £38,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Full-time (4-day working week, Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 18:00)
We are delighted to be working with our client, a fast-growing and technology-driven accountancy firm based in Crawley, to recruit a talented Semi-Senior Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about accounting, client service, and career progression. This role offers the chance to work closely with the Managing Director as the first hire in a forward-thinking firm. You'll have a unique opportunity to influence the company's growth and be involved in a wide variety of work, including accounts preparation, tax compliance, client advisory services, and cloud accounting implementation.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare year-end statutory accounts (FRS 102 1A & FRS 105), management accounts, and VAT returns
Assist in preparing corporation tax computations and self-assessment tax returns
Perform bookkeeping, payroll, CIS returns, and pension submissions
Work with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Dext
Support with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for clients
Liaise with clients regularly, providing proactive support and advice
Keep up to date with UK accounting and tax legislation
About you:
Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACA/ACCA/AAT) with 2-3 years' experience in a practice environment
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of client work
Strong understanding of UK accounting and tax principles
Skilled in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext preferred)
Proactive and tech-savvy, with a drive to continuously improve processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
