Job Title: SEN Science Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Medway
Salary Range: £130 - £250 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Terms 6 and 1

GSL Education are currently seeking a passionate SEN Science Teacher for a maternity cover position at a specialist ASD school in Medway. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while teaching in a highly supportive environment.
About the School: The school is a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting that specialises in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It provides a structured, inclusive environment designed to meet the diverse learning and developmental needs of its pupils.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Develop and adapt resources to support diverse learning styles and cognitive abilities.
Foster a positive and structured learning environment with clear routines and expectations.
Work closely with teaching assistants and the SEN team to support EHCP targets.
Monitor and assess student progress, feeding into personalised learning plans.
Provide emotional support and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching Science, preferably in an SEN or ASD-specialist setting.
Strong understanding of autism and strategies for supporting learners with complex needs.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A calm, compassionate, and adaptable teaching approach.
Understanding of various SEN conditions.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
