Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs (SEN) in primary schools across Leeds. Key Responsibilities:
Providing high-quality, individualised and small group support to pupils with SEN.
Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.
Implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
Supporting students with their emotional, social, and behavioural needs, using evidence-based strategies.
Communicating effectively and respectfully with class teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and the wider school community.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of pupil progress, ensuring confidentiality.
Contributing to a positive and stimulating learning environment that celebrates diversity and fosters a sense of belonging.
Essential Criteria:
Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK school.
A strong understanding of various SEN needs and appropriate support strategies, informed by current best practice.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and behaviour management skills, demonstrating empathy and respect.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, respecting diverse perspectives.
A flexible and adaptable approach to work, embracing change and new challenges.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Desirable Criteria:
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (e.g., Team Teach).
Experience supporting specific SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties).
Experience working with pupils across a range of primary age groups .
