JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teacher

Job Duties:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Assess and track the progress of students, providing feedback to parents and caregivers
Collaborate with SENCOs and other professionals to create individualised education plans
Manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with SEN best practises
Required Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with students with SEN
Understanding of SEN Code of Practise and relevant legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an SEN setting
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of different learning needs and strategies for SEN students
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student requirements
Strong classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
Training in Makaton, TEACCH, or other SEN interventions
Working Conditions:
Regular working hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments for meetings or events
Classroom-based teaching with opportunities for outdoor learning and educational trips
Collaborative work within a supportive team environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
