SEN Teacher (ASD) - Temp to Perm Role Location: Hertsmere, Hertfordshire Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm Age Group: 4-19 years (all with a diagnosis of ASD) Salary: MPS1-UPS3 About the Role: We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive team at an all through SEN school. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent position, with the potential for a permanent role within our school, depending on performance. The successful candidate will work with students aged 4-19, all of whom have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will be responsible for creating and delivering tailored educational programs, focusing on both academic achievement and social-emotional development. Experience in teaching students with ASD is essential, as well as a strong commitment to supporting each student's individual needs and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to students with ASD, ensuring that all learning needs are met. Creating individualised learning plans and providing targeted support for students with diverse needs. Collaborating with the wider school team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and parents, to ensure holistic support for each child. Managing classroom behaviour and implementing strategies that promote a positive and inclusive environment. Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback and reports as required. Contributing to the overall development of the school's SEN provision. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential. A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and structured learning environment. Ability to differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students. Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with families and other professionals. Desirable: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is ideal, but not essential for the right candidate with the relevant experience. Experience with communication strategies (e.g., Makaton, TEACCH, PECS) is advantageous but not mandatory. Why Join Us?
