SEN Teacher SEN Teacher Immediate start Competitive rate of pay Full-time, long-term North London £(Apply online only) per day A SEN teacher is needed for a pupil referral unit (PRU) in North London for secondary school students with special educational needs aged 11-16. As a SEN teacher, you will be working with students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, with the aim of providing them with qualifications to ensure a successful future. This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links. Being a SEN teacher at this school, you will become a part of a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources. Willingness to do personal care is preferred for this role of SEN teacher. Your responsibilities as a SEN teacher may include: Lesson planning and delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs. This may include alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions. Helping students to develop confidence and independence. Implementing behaviour management techniques, which may include physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Working with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students. To be a SEN teacher, you will need: The right to work in the UK. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas trained teacher awaiting QTS. A clear and up-to-date DBS Experience working as a Teacher in a UK school. A patient and 'can-do' attitude.
