We are a specialist school in Tokers Green, Reading, supporting young people aged 6-16 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, moderate to severe learning needs, and associated difficulties. We are currently seeking a dedicated teacher to join our growing team and work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to support the smooth operation of the school.

Job Summary:
Take responsibility for the quality of teaching, learning, and progress of assigned pupils.
Supervise support staff working with students in your class.
Lead a curriculum area, including:
Monitoring quality and standards.
Contributing to school planning and self-evaluation.
Providing professional support to colleagues.
Advising on appropriate resources and materials.
Leading relevant professional development.
Implement and uphold the school's aims and values in everyday practice.
Contribute to the overall success and development of the school.Responsibilities:
Knowledge and Qualifications:
PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification with relevant training.
Understanding of special educational needs, curriculum adaptation, and learning plans.Skills:
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Capability to coach and mentor support staff.
Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
Effective planning, preparation, and progress-monitoring skills.
Experience supporting students with ASD and complex communication/behavioural needs.
Ability to de-escalate emotional and behavioural issues.
Good IT skills.Experience:
Knowledge and personal experience of special needs, disabilities, behaviour management, and related challenges.
