Job Description

Part-Time Morning Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support for Child with ASD Location: Chandler's Ford Hours: Mornings Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 12:30pm) Start Date: As Soon As Possible Contract: Part-Time, Term Time Only Are you a patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming primary school in Chandler's Ford is looking for a Part-Time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during morning sessions. About the Role: You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support for the child, helping them access learning and develop key social and emotional skills. Your support will be crucial in creating a calm, structured environment that enables the child to thrive. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 5 child with ASD during morning lessons Implement strategies from the child's Individual Support Plan and EHCP Encourage social interaction and support emotional regulation Adapt activities to suit the child's needs and learning style Collaborate with staff and parents to monitor and support progress We're Looking for Someone Who: Has experience working with children with ASD or additional needs (preferred but not essential) Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong communication skills Is calm, reliable, and committed to supporting the child's development Can follow guidance while also using initiative when needed Holds a relevant TA qualification (desirable) What We Offer: A warm, supportive school community The opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life Ongoing training and development A friendly and collaborative working environment TimePlan Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expect all staff to show this commitment.
