SEN Teaching Assistant Make a Meaningful Difference – Join a Nurturing School as a SEN Teaching Assistant in Enfield Teach Now is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 pupil with Down’s Syndrome at a warm, welcoming primary school in Edmonton, North London. This is a full-time, permanent position starting immediately, with a daily rate of £85–£100. This three-form entry school, catering to children aged 2 to 11, is a proud cornerstone of the local community. With a rich mix of cultures and backgrounds, the school is known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to learning, perseverance, and pupil achievement. The school boasts excellent specialist support, including a Nurture Group and an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for children with Autism. In this role, you will work 1:1 with a delightful pupil who has Down’s Syndrome. The child does not display challenging behaviour but requires gentle support to maintain focus during tasks and remain engaged. Your role will be to encourage independence, guide learning activities, and ensure the pupil's emotional and academic progress is nurtured in a structured and caring environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of a KS1 pupil with Down’s Syndrome • Encourage focus and engagement with classwork • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals • Monitor progress and contribute to personalised learning strategies Ideal Candidate: SEN Teaching Assistant: • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in KS1 • Patient, caring, and proactive approach • Team player with excellent communication skills • A passion for supporting children to reach their full potential If you're ready to join a school where every child is supported to shine, we want to hear from you.
