Camden Primary SchoolA high-achieving and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking an exceptionally experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with significant behavioural needs. This is a full-time, long-term position for someone ready to take on a challenging yet highly rewarding role.
The Role
You will work closely with one pupil in year 3 who presents extremely challenging behaviour, including swearing, hitting, and biting. The child requires a resilient, calm, and highly skilled professional who can remain composed in high-stress situations and implement effective de-escalation techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the pupil throughout the school day in class and during transitions
Managing incidents involving verbal and physical aggression in a safe and professional manner
Working in close partnership with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Implementing consistent behaviour strategies and personalised learning support
Encouraging emotional regulation, social skills, and academic engagementThis role requires someone with a proven background in supporting pupils with high-level behavioural needs, ideally in a primary school or specialist setting.

This primary school in Camden is part of a respected high achieving primary school in the borough of Camden. The school benefits from strong leadership, a supportive staff team, and well-established systems for supporting pupils with SEN. Although behaviour across the school is generally very good, this role is specifically to support a child with exceptional needs. The school works closely with the attached secondary school and there is a supportive and established leadership team in place. As a large school within an academy, there is good access to professional development opportunities and training.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
Experience with children who exhibit physical aggression or emotional dysregulation
Confidence in managing high-intensity situations using positive behaviour support strategies
