SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you a confident and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for transforming the lives of children with challenging behaviours? Teach Now is looking for a dedicated and resilient professional to join a vibrant and supportive primary school in the heart of Islington.
This inclusive and forward-thinking school caters to pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2, with a strong focus on nurturing emotional wellbeing and providing high-quality SEN support. The team prides itself on fostering a warm and respectful atmosphere where every child is valued, regardless of their background or abilities.
You’ll be working closely with children who display behavioural and emotional difficulties, many of whom have diagnoses such as ADHD, ODD, SEMH, or undiagnosed additional needs. Your role will involve delivering 1:1 and small group interventions, helping to de-escalate situations with a calm and empathetic approach, and collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement behaviour management plans and strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children with challenging behaviours in a school or care setting
• A calm, patient, and proactive attitude
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Restraint training or Team Teach is desirable but not essential
