SEN Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Location: LS4, Leeds
Contract: Maternity cover – September 2025 to July 2026 (with potential to extend)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in LS4 from September 2025. This is a maternity cover position, running through to July 2026, supporting children with additional needs, including autism and behavioural challenges.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and inclusive team committed to providing high-quality education and care for all pupils.
Please note: There is potential for the role to become permanent, depending on internal staffing and SEN cohort changes.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils with special educational needs
Supporting children with autism and behavioural needs
Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement support plans
Contributing to a positive and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
Experience supporting children with autism and/or behavioural needs
A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
