Prospero Teaching are a specialist SEND school in Wolverhampton who provide education and care for pupils aged 7-18 with moderate learning difficulties (MLD). While our designation is MLD, the majority of pupils also present with a range of additional needs including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, and some behavioural challenges.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. You'll play a vital role in supporting our pupils to achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Your Role Will Involve:
Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
Helping to create a positive, stimulating, and safe classroom environment
Encouraging the development of communication, social, and emotional skills
Implementing strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs)
Working collaboratively with the wider staff team and external professionalsWhat We're Looking For:
Experience of working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and communication needs
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent)
A minimum of 6 months experience working in a UK school
