About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with children who require additional support with their learning, behaviour, and social development. You’ll be an integral part of the classroom, helping to deliver tailored support strategies and encouraging independence in a positive and structured manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalised support to pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties.
Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
Encourage pupil engagement and emotional development.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Monitor and record pupil progress and report to teachers and SENCOs.
Work in partnership with teachers and external specialists to meet pupils’ unique needs.
Job Requirements:
Prior experience supporting children or young people with SEN, behavioural challenges, or additional needs is essential.
Knowledge of SEN strategies and willingness to undertake further training.
Empathetic, resilient, and nurturing approach to student support.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches, Team Teach (or similar), or de-escalation strategies is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a nurturing disposition.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
