Job Advert: SEN Tutor (QTS) - Leicester
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism in their family home in Leicester. The child is non-verbal and can exhibit challenging behaviours. No specific triggers have been identified by the SEN school, though these behaviours are likely linked to communication difficulties.
Role Details:
Location: Leicester
Hours: 15 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored educational and developmental support in line with the child's individual needs
Implement strategies to support communication and engagement
Manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding
Work closely with the family and any other professionals involved in the child's care
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
Experience working with children with Autism and complex needs
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
Ability to adapt teaching methods to support non-verbal communication
Experience working in a home-based setting is desirable
Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviours
