Exciting Opportunity – SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Location: Wisbech area Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm) Salary: £35,585 – £50,845 (dependent on experience and qualifications) Are you an experienced SEN professional looking to step into a leadership role? We are recruiting on behalf of an independent specialist school in the Wisbech area, offering tailored education for young people aged 11–16 with a range of complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, and communication difficulties. The school combines therapeutic support with a personalised curriculum and offers a truly inclusive environment where every student can thrive. About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity to join a committed senior leadership team and play a vital role in the strategic and operational direction of the school’s SEND provision. As SENCO, you will: ✔ Lead the strategic development of SEND provision, maintaining high standards across the school ✔ Oversee the SEND register and provision mapping ✔ Coordinate EHCP reviews, assessments, and interventions ✔ Act as the lead professional for external agencies, including local authorities and health partners ✔ Work closely with families to ensure inclusive support ✔ Provide guidance to staff on the graduated approach to SEN support ✔ Promote access to a broad curriculum and inclusion in all school life About You: We are looking for a dedicated professional who can lead with empathy, expertise, and integrity. You should have: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (Pre or Post-16) ✅ Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice ✅ Previous experience working in SEND settings or with children with additional needs ✅ A track record of working effectively with multi-agency teams ✅ Excellent communication and leadership skills ✅ The National Award for SEN Coordination (desirable) Why Choose This Role?
