Job Description
A leading secondary school in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a skilled and experienced SENCO to join their senior leadership team from September. This well-respected and inclusive school has an excellent track record in supporting a diverse range of learners and takes great pride in its strong SEND provision and whole-school culture of inclusion.
As SENCO, you will oversee the school’s SEND strategy, manage the SEND register, lead on EHCP reviews and target setting, and work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure all learners access an ambitious, differentiated curriculum. The school benefits from an established support team, therapeutic input, and a highly inclusive ethos.
You will be a key figure in shaping intervention programmes, coordinating staff training, and supporting students with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and other additional needs. Your work will have a direct impact on student progress, confidence and wellbeing.
The ideal candidate will have QTS, experience working in SEND, and a proven track record of leadership. The NASENCO qualification is essential or must be in progress. Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, effective communication skills, and a genuine commitment to inclusion are vital.
