Job Description
A respected SEN secondary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated SENCO to join their experienced leadership team from September 2025.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a key strategic role in a school that is inclusive, nurturing, and ambitious for all learners, including those with additional needs and complex profiles.
The school caters for students with a range of SEND, including ASD, speech and language needs, and SEMH. As SENCO, you will lead a strong team of TAs, support curriculum access, and work closely with external agencies and families to ensure the success of all students.
As SENCO, you’ll:

Lead the development and implementation of high-quality SEN provision
*
Oversee EHCPs, annual reviews, and access arrangements
*
Train and support staff in inclusive teaching strategies
*
Liaise with educational psychologists, therapists, and local authority services
The school offers:

Full support from SLT and governors
*
Access to national SENCO training if not yet completed
*
Collaborative planning and shared leadership responsibilities
*
CPD and networking with other schools and SEN leaders in the trust
What we’re looking for:
*
Qualified Teacher Status
*
NASENCO qualification or willingness to gain it
*
Experience working with students with SEND
*
Excellent communication and leadership skills
*
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
